Eczema - a chronic skin disorder categorized by itching, rash, and a personal or family history of seasonal allergies or asthma. Alternative names: infantile eczema; Atopic eczema; Dermatitis. Eczema combined with acne rosacea, ocular rosacea, or adult roscea is more complicated in the treatment.

Edema - Another name for swelling due to rosacea, acne rosacea or acult rosacea.

Elidel® - by Novartis the first non-steroid prescription medication for the treatment of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis.

Elocon® - by Schering, (Mometasone furoate) a cortisone-like steroid medication available in cream, ointment, and lotion form. It is used in the treatment of certain itchy rashes and other inflammatory skin conditions such as stasis dermatitis, eczema/atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis. Steroid use can cause steroid-induced rosacea, acne rosacea & adult rosacea.

Embeline™ E - (Clobetasol) a corticosteroid used to reduce itching, redness, and swelling associated with many skin conditions such as stasis dermatitis, eczema/atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis and seborrheic dermatitis. Also sold under the brand names: Cormax®, Temovate®. Note: Steroid use can cause steroid-induced rosacea, adult rosacea & acne rosacea.

E-Mycin® - Oral antibiotic medication used in the treatment of infections. Also sold under the brand names: Erythrocin® (Oral), Eryc®, E.E.S.®, Erythromycin (Oral), Pediamycin®, Ilosone®, Robimycin®. Use of oral antibiotics can cause increased sun-sensitivity to rosacea, adult rosacea, acne rosacea & ocular rosacea.

Eryc® - Oral antibiotic medication used in the treatment of infections. Also sold under the brand names: Erythrocin® (Oral), E.E.S.®, E-Mycin®, Erythromycin (Oral), Pediamycin®, Ilosone®, Robimycin®. Use of oral antibiotics can cause increased sun-sensitivity to rosacea, adult rosacea, acne rosacea & ocular rosacea.

Erygel® - Topical antibiotic medication used on the skin in the treatment of acne. Also sold under the brand names: Erymax®, A/T/S®, Staticin®, Erycette®, Ery-Sol®, Erythra-Derm®, T-Stat®, Eryderm®, Erythromycin.

Erythema - Facial redness common to rosacea, adult rosacea, acne rosacea & ocular rosacea(a rash) caused by inflammation of the skin. Often, the cause of a rash can be determined from its visible characteristics and other co-occurring symptoms. Alternative names: Skin redness or inflammation; Skin lesion; Rubor; Skin rash.

Also sold under the brand names: Eryc®, E.E.S.®, E-Mycin®, Erythromycin® (Oral), Pediamycin®, Ilosone®, Robimycin®. Note: Use of oral antibiotics can cause increased sun-sensitivity to rosacea, adult rosacea, acne rosacea & ocular rosacea.
