Halcinonide - high potency corticosteroid medication used for the treatment of inflammation caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. Also sold under the brand names: Halog®, Halog®E. Note: Steroid use can cause steroid-induced rosacea.

Halog® - by Westwood Scribb, (Halcinonide) a high potency corticosteroid medication used for the treatment of inflammation caused by a number of conditions such as allergic reactions, eczema, and psoriasis. Helicobacter pylori - A stomach bacteria which causes ulcers that was once thought to be the cause of rosacea. Later studies did not prove this connection.

Hydrocortisone - a natural chemical made by the body which reduces swelling, itching, inflammation and burning. The most common prescribed and/or over-the-counter steroid medication used for the treatment of itching and inflammation associated with a wide variety of skin conditions such as eczema, allergic skin conditions, dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis. Very low potency steroid. Also sold under the brand names: Cetacort®, Nutracort®, Anusol-HC®, Hytone®, Cort-Dome®, Locoid®, Cortenema®, Cortifoam®, Cortaind®, Lanacort®, Westcort®. Note: Steroid use can cause steroid-induced rosacea.

Hypertrophy - Abnormal growth.

Hyperemia - Abnormally increased blood flow.

Hyperplasia - Increased cell production in normal tissue; an excess of normal tissue.

Hypothalamus - The body's "thermostat".

Hytone® - by Dermik, (Hydrocortisone) a low potency steroid medication used for the treatment of itching and inflammation associated with a wide variety of skin conditions such as eczema, allergic skin cinditions, dermatitis, and seborrheic dermatitis.
