Ideally one should consume an average of at eight 8-ounce glasses (or about two litres ) of alkaline or pH neutral water per day to help balance your body’s pH and prevent rosacea flushing. Ten to twelve glasses (or about three litres) per day is recommended. Water should be very cold or served with added ice. The hypothalamus, the body’s “thermostat”, cannot properly regulate temperature (and prevent facial flushing) unless kept cool and supplied with adequate water. Water also hydrates the skin, preventing clogged pores. For information about increasing the pH of your water, making it even healthier to drink, see our drinking water page.
